About UltimateNYG

UltimateNYG

From the 1990's to 2006, Andy was the informal leader of an email group of NY Giants fans who shared thoughts on the team.  What started as a group of ~5 of us grew to ~20 people.  People from the group really enjoyed the discussion.  In 2006 the Email group led to the "blog" and the rest was history.  Sharing the passion of the Giants went wider.  Much wider.  Railing against the evils of the 'Prevent' grew into a wider set of "Rules," the list for which has been featured at the NY Times, Fark, and many other football blogs.  NY Giants, Giants Championships, the NFL and Football Gospel... this site has a reputation for delivering insight and commentary on the Gmen that you cannot get anywhere else.  We don't sugar coat underachievement, so do not mistake critical analysis for lack of support of our beloved Giants.  If you want the party line, the pom poms and the restrained talk of journalists who are paid to have access and will not tell you the problems, then this is not your place.  We read between the lines to get a pulse of the team and our record is here.  We simply want championships.  Just check the banner at the top.  It is the UltimateNYG way that we keep score.

Andy Furman

Andy suffered through the 70's with bad football, but guys like Lockhart and Tarkenton and Carson made it all somewhat manageable.  Rob Carpenter and LT changed that in '81.  1986 will always be the sweetest because it was our first Super Bowl.  Joining the ranks of teams like the Steelers, Raiders and Cowboys in winning a Super Bowl title was football heaven.  Now that he understands the pinnacle, it is his job to educate/proselytize/brainwash as many of you as he can to demand championships. 1986, 1990 and 2007 all make it worth it.

Glenn Warciski

Glenn grew up in New Jersey. Each Sunday in the fall and winter, he and his Dad watched and rooted for the Giants.  Glenn's first game at Giants Stadium was "The Fumble" or non-Giants' fans call it the Miracle at the Meadowlands. Despite giving the game away to the Eagles, he was hooked as a fan.  Now a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, Glenn launched a blog, New York Football Giants Talk, before moving over to UltimateNYG.  Glenn adds fresh perspective that is polished from his years as a commentator and credentialed member of the media.

Wonder

A certified Jets fanatic, Wonder hails from the Bronx and now resides in Vegas.  The Giants are his #2 team, but the rest of us should be lucky enough to know as much about football with our #1 as Wonder does for all the rest.  His knowledge of the NFL is unsurpassed.  The unofficial UltimateNYG guru, he has a beat on EVERY SINGLE TEAM IN THE NFL.  Wonder has a keen eye for evaluating talent and is brutally honest about grading out coaches, players and prospects for the NFL.  This site is fortunate to have him share his wisdom with us on a semi-regular basis.

Peter Scott Furman

Pete has been passionate about football his whole life.  He played Varsity football all the way through college and then hung up his spikes. His team has always been the N.Y. Football Giants.  Born and raised in the NY Metropolitan area,  he's a passionate college football fan who presently lives in Atlanta, GA. Pete was a game scout for the Raiders for 15 years. Al Davis would send someone to every N.F.L. game each weekend of the NFL Season. His purpose was to stay current on who played well and who did not. Pete supplied injury reports, potential trade information and gave Davis updates on ex-Raider players.  Now writing for UltimateNYGiants, he gets to do his first love, Sports Journalism.

Motown Blue

Paul Burke aka Motown Blue has been a passionate fan since his youth starting in the 70s.  Paul was exposed to many stories about NY Giant history through his family.  The Burkes were close to the Maras, starting with his Grandfather's relationship with Jack Mara.  His Great Aunt provided the sneakers in the famous sneaker game, the 1934 NFC Championship game.  That counts as Giants Blueblood royalty for us.
